How to add a ConvertKit Form to Your Website
Let’s start with Squarespace. Have Wordpress? Skip down the page by clicking here.
There are several ways to connect your ConvertKit Form to Squarespace. I’m going to show you the easiest. The second requires the use of Zapier. If having beautifully integrated newsletter buttons and styling are key, Zapier is your best option. I am creating a tutorial on this too, stay tuned!
ConvertKit + Squarespace
This is a basic copy & paste process that will have your Form on your site in just minutes. Closed captions are available on the video.
Here are all of the steps in summary—
1. Finalize your form in ConvertKit. Click the Embed Button in the top right corner.
2. Use either Javascript or HTML. If you aren’t sure which, use the Javascript. Click Copy. If for whatever reason that gives you trouble, use the HTML. I know that’s annoying. Tech. (shrug)
3. Go to your site and choose the page you wish to add to. Click “Edit” and scroll to where you’d like it to live.
4. Click to add a new code block.
5. Paste in your ConvertKit form embed code.
6. Click Apply! Save your page. Then refresh. If you’re still in your Squarespace Editor, you’ll see a display box but not the “real thing.” Pro Tip: Open your site in a separate browser tab, and go to the page you edited to see it display.
Note: There is an “EMBED” feature vs. “CODE” inside the Squarespace Panel that you can choose as well. So… I guess there are two easy ways to add your form. Both work. Choose whichever seems easier to you.
ConvertKit + Wordpress
Wordpress makes it fairly simple with their own plugin. A plug-in is a software component that adds a specific feature (ConvertKit) to an existing program (Wordpress). To translate: it connect ConvertKit into your Wordpress site. Once set up, it’s few less regular steps than your friends with Squarespace. This works for all .org WordPress accounts, as well as the .com Business accounts.
Because ConvertKit is amazing—they’ve made, + continue to update, an entire tutorial on “How to install the WordPress plugin” for your ConvertKit account. Full of videos and step by step instructions, it’s easy to follow. You can find it here:
If you prefer to embed the form on your site, without using the Plug-in, follow this tutorial.
